Sponsored by Bechtel Group Foundation, the program offers 25 scholarships to first-time college and university students who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-, three-, or four-year college or university or vocational-technical school.
Eligibility
Program participation is open to children of Bechtel employees worldwide who are not eligible for other Bechtel scholars program(s). Bechtel employees are defined as those individuals who, as of the March 1 application deadline, are actively employed by Bechtel or one of its subsidiary companies and have at least one year of service. Financial need is not considered. Recipients are announced in April.
Awards
Up to 25 scholarship are awarded each year for up to $3,000 each, not to exceed the cost of one year's educational expenses. Awards are for one year only and are not renewable.
Administration
The program is administered by Scholarship Management Services, a department of Scholarship America. Scholarship America is a nonprofit organization that assists the private sector in expanding global educational opportunities and encouraging educational achievement.
