January 29, 2013: The Gladstone region faced significant flooding over recent days. All team members are safe but some of them were forced to evacuate their homes and families. Several roads remain closed, cutting off some people from being able to return to their homes so they remain isolated but safe. Everyone’s safety is our priority and we are reaching out to assist whenever possible.
The LNG construction sites on Curtis Island are returning to normal construction activity this week.
The employees able to return to work were asked to report to their respective ferry terminal on Tuesday, 29 January. The APLNG project is open for normal work activities. PJET and CSO employees also returned for normal operations. For the QCLNG and GLNG sites, some work fronts have returned to normal activity and the remainder of the sites will be opened through this week.
As long as the Gladstone Harbour remains closed during night hours, there will be no night shift work for mainland based employees. Night shift staff should contact their supervisor to make alternative arrangements in the interim. Until the harbour is fully opened the first ferries will operate from about 5:30am (just after sunrise) and the last ferry back from the island will be about 5:30pm.
