Bechtel provides management and technical support to the Government of Gabon to help develop a national infrastructure plan and a government agency to execute major infrastructure projects, l'Agence Nationale des Grands Travaux (ANGT). Bechtel brings world-class experience and expertise to help Gabon develop sustainably and raise construction industry standards in the realms of safety, quality and project implementation.
The national infrastructure plan will prioritize investment and development needs, while balancing Gabon’s commitment to sustainable development. The plan will focus on mid to long term infrastructure strategies and include major sectors like transportation, facilities, housing and energy.

Bechtel is working with the government to assist the formation of the ANGT. This agency will be part of implementing the approved national infrastructure plan. Bechtel will help ANGT develop processes and systems to execute major infrastructure projects while reinforcing the importance of sustainability, transparency and best practice.
In the spring of 2010, the Government of Gabon requested Bechtel to help it develop the plans, systems and infrastructure to meet the needs of Gabon’s citizens. Bechtel’s work is helping drive President Ali Bongo Ondimba’s vision Le Gabon Emergent - a three-pronged strategy aimed at the sustainable development of industry, services and “green Gabon” for the country’s economic and social growth.
This is Bechtel’s second project in Gabon. In the 1980s, Bechtel provided a series of economic development planning studies for the Government of Gabon.
