Bechtel is a member of Transparency International-USA, a nongovernmental organization dedicated to increasing government accountability and curbing both international and national corruption.
Bechtel has a long-standing policy of zero tolerance for bribery. The company also is a signatory to the historic Principles for Countering Bribery, an initiative of the World Economic Forum Partnering Against Corruption Initiative in partnership with Transparency International and the Basel Institute on Governance.

Bechtel's ethics and compliance officer, Nancy Higgins, is an active, long-time member of the Ethics and Compliance Officers Association. Adrian Zaccaria, Bechtel's vice chairman, spoke to the association's members in April 2009.
