Tips & Advice

Our selection process is designed for us to find out more about you but it also allows you to find out more about us.

Your Application

  • Don’t undersell yourself. CV/applications are the first impressions we get, so be sure to make the right one!
  • Do your research. We want to understand your motivation for applying to us, and your particular role, so come prepared with a good answer
  • If you apply to a role be sure to meet the entry requirements, if you have extenuating circumstances then you may want to include them in your cover letter.
  • Tailor your CV/resume to your application. This means focusing on the experiences, qualifications and achievements that are most relevant to us and the role.
  • Try to stand out. If you’ve completed any relevant projects, or have interesting hobbies and extracurricular activities which have helped you develop particular skills, include these in your application
  • Get ready to be questioned. If we see something in your CV/resume that interests us, we’re going to want to talk about it
  • Check your spelling and grammar.
  • Don’t rush. Make sure you take the time to complete the form to the best of your ability but do think about the deadline date and be respectful of this.

Your interview

  • Be prepared to be challenged technically. If we’re interviewing you for a technical role, we’ll ask questions at the level we’d expect from a graduate, and will challenge you in order to gauge your technical ability
  • Have examples ready. Think of projects or achievements that demonstrate your skills. If you have trouble with competency-based questions, remember CAR – Challenge, Action and Result;
    • What was the challenge?
    • What action was taken?
    • What was the result/outcome?
  • Tell us what you learnt from your experience(s) for extra points!
  • Tell us about your abilities through your experiences, these could be from university, extra-curricular activities, work experience and personal life.
  • Be clear on why you want to join us - and the role to which you have applied
  • Don’t be afraid to take your time. Take a moment to collect your thoughts before answering. It’s the quality of your answer we’re interested, not its speed
  • Have some good questions ready. Researching recent news articles about us or the industry might help with this
  • Be yourself. We hire people with personalities, don’t be afraid to show us who you are!
  • Plan ahead. It’s a good idea to plan your route, and aim to arrive about 10 to 15 minutes early.
