Bechtel Communications, an affiliate of Bechtel Corporation, provides program management, network planning and RF design, engineering, procurement, site acquisition, construction management, and testing and optimization for the deployment of wireless, wireline and other telecommunications facilities supported by our global network of offices. Wireless Networks
Bechtel’s wireless deployment experience includes over 106,000 wireless overlay, upgrade and new-build sites. Our standardized designs, refined network processes and robust management tools drive cost reductions and schedule efficiencies to clients across a broad range of wireless technologies including GSM, TDMA, CDMA, UMTS, WiMAX E-911 and next-generation networks.
Signature projects include AT&T Mobility (formerly Cingular), Vodafone and Vivatel.
Fixed Networks
Customers count on Bechtel for our wireline deployment expertise, with more than 23,000 km of fiber deployed within cities, across national boundaries and undersea.
Our proven work processes for turnkey wireline deployment include program management, network planning, ROW, community relations, OSP/ISP engineering, procurement, construction, equipment installation, and testing and commissioning. We have implemented our processes to successfully deploy transcontinental fiber backbones, metropolitan fiber loops, and FTTx/last-mile connections.
Signature projects include Verizon FTTP, Metromedia Fiber Network and Viatel.
Communication Centers
We have designed and constructed multiple communications center facilities, including NOCs, POPs, mobile switching centers, and data centers.
The Training, Demonstration, and Research (TDR) Laboratory offers our clients the ability to integrate equipment from multiple vendors to identify interoperability issues, characterize product performance, and ensure compatibility with legacy systems, thereby reducing risk for clients who are integrating new technologies.
