Bechtel's Startup group is responsible for the initial operation, commissioning, and performance testing of all of our turnkey projects. Experienced in all power plant technologies and support systems, this group can provide support that ranges from staff augmentation of a customer’s team to providing a complete plant startup program.

  • Basic operator training program (power station fundamentals)
  • Integrated power station and system operating procedures
  • Assessments of plant operation methods, processes and procedures, and recommendations for improvements
• Process optimization
  • Tuning and optimization of integrated controls to improve plant stability, load change capability, and dynamic plant response to transient conditions
  • Optimization of process water systems, including demineralizers, polishers, raw water and wastewater treatment systems, and wet AQCS  systems
  • Alarm rationalization and optimization
• Owner’s engineer/agent for startup and commissioning of new facilities
• Independent assessment of commissioning programs and restart programs from extended overhaul or retrofit outages
