Bechtel and its partner Enka have won an ENR Global Best Projects Award for the Kosovo Motorway project. The project took the top honor in the roads and highways category.The awards recognize projects for their safe and innovative solutions to design and building challenges, international teamwork, contribution to industry and the community, as well as quality of design and construction work. Bechtel BWXT Idaho received the U.S. Department of Energy's 2009 Management and Operations Small Business Achievement of the Year Award. The award recognizes contractors for procuring goods and services from small businesses and for having polices and programs that promote use of small businesses. In fiscal year 2009, more than 80 percent of Bechtel BWXT Idaho's available dollars for subcontracting opportunities went to small businesses.

The Savannah River Remediation (SRR) has received the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Star of Excellence award. The honor recognizes SRR for its programs to ensure the health and safety of workers at DOE’s Savannah River Site (SRS) in South Carolina. Bechtel is part of SRR, the liquid waste contractor responsible for the remediation of radioactive waste at the former nuclear weapons production facility.

The Waste Treatment Plant received a 2012 Safe-in-Sound award from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and the National Hearing Conservation Association.This is the first construction project to ever receive the award, which honors companies that have demonstrated dedication to hearing loss prevention through workplace programs and practices.

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, which is managed and operated by a team led by Bechtel and the University of California, received two Pollution Prevention Awards from the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration. Superior Technical Achievement Recognition

FIATECH, an industry consortium that promotes the use of emerging automated technologies on capital construction projects, presented its Superior Technical Achievement Recognition (STAR) award to Bechtel, for its broad engagement and hands-on involvement in the organization. The STAR awards have previously recognized only individuals, making this the first time that a company has been so honored. Bechtel has been a member of FIATECH since 2001.
