Global Sector Lead, Civil
Mike Lewis is a Senior Vice President of Bechtel Corporation and currently serves as Operations Manager for Bechtel’s civil work in the Americas. In addition, Mike is Infrastructure’s Global Market Sector Lead for all roads, bridges, tunnels, dams and reservoirs, and ports and marine work.
Since joining Bechtel over four decades ago, Mike has held executive as well as project and construction management positions globally, including the United States, the Middle East, Australia and Europe. His vast project planning and execution experience has successfully served customers in Bechtel’s Mining & Metals, Infrastructure, and Nuclear Security & Environmental business units.
His diverse project portfolio includes water and hydroelectric infrastructure; water pumping, pipelines, storage, and reclamation on numerous mining and metals projects worldwide; and complex federal environmental cleanup facilities across the United States. He is a recognized problem solver and champion of safety and his track record of building and managing effective integrated teams and initiating time-saving, practical solutions has increased safety, met milestones, and enhanced productivity on a range of projects.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University. He also completed the Construction Executive Management Program from Texas A&M University and the Program for Manager Development from Duke University.
Mike and his wife Colleen live in New Orleans Louisiana. Mike is based and works in Bechtel’s corporate headquarters in Reston Virginia. Mike and Colleen have a blended family with two sons, two daughters and two grandchildren.
