Aviation Sector Lead
Larry Estrada is aviation sector lead and a principal vice president for Bechtel Infrastructure. He brings to the enterprise 35 years of construction and project management experience on major international airport and transportation infrastructure projects.
As aviation sector lead, Larry is responsible for aviation project activities, including marketing and business development, design, construction, and project management.
Larry joined Bechtel in 1981, as a field engineer on the King Khalid International Airport project in Saudi Arabia, and has since held roles of Increasing scope and responsibility on the company's airport projects.
Most recently he was project director for the $16 billion Hamad International Airport in Qatar, responsible for overseeing the design, project and construction management of a 22 km2 infrastructure project consisting of multilevel passenger terminal; a 100-room hotel; all cargo, catering, maintenance and airfield facilities; two runways; the air traffic control tower; and all airport-wide integrated communications and management systems.
Previously, he was project manager for Jorge Chavez International Airport in Peru, and construction manager for Dubai International Airport. Other international airport projects include Chicago O'Hare, McCarran in Las Vegas, and King Fahd in Saudi Arabia. Other transportation roles include High Speed 1 in the UK where he led the design, project management, and construction management of the $1.8 billion St Pancras project, the primary rail terminal for the high-speed rail link between Paris and London.
Larry earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial technology construction from California State University.
