Employee Service Supervisor, 9 years with Bechtel

I supervise the employee service center in Glendale, Arizona, where we answer questions employees have about salary, benefits, and retirement. I also manage the staff of the global program that handles service and retirement awards for our employees. We notify people when they are due an award, and we make sure that gifts, certificates, and retirement letters are processed in a timely manner.

The biggest challenge I face is trying to anticipate what our employees really want and need, and providing them with all the information. Our goal is to make sure that employees feel the human touch with every e-mail or phone call.

For me, job satisfaction comes with knowing that my team provides excellent customer service, and that our employees are satisfied. We understand how important awards are, especially to employees who have been with Bechtel for 20 years or more, and how proud they are to work for the company.
