First LNG Cargo From Equatorial Guinea Project Delivered Six Months Ahead of Schedule

Marathon Oil Corporation and its partners announced today the delivery of the first cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from their Train 1 LNG project on Bioko Island, Equatorial Guinea. The $1.5 billion project was completed on-budget and six months ahead of the original schedule of late 2007. Bechtel was the primary engineering, procurement and construction contractor.
