Under USAID's Iraq Infrastructure Reconstruction Program, Bechtel helps rehabilitate 1,153 Iraqi schools in time to start the school year

Under USAID's Iraq Infrastructure Reconstruction Program, Bechtel and a team of approximately 65 Iraqi subcontractors rehabilitated 1,153 schools in time for the start of the school year.  

Approximately 1 million children will be returning to the newly refurbished schools. The schools program will refurbish approximately 1,200 schools in 14 major cities throughout Iraq.
