Marvin Odum Named CEO of InterGen

BURLINGTON, MA, May 7, 2003—InterGen—an affiliate of Bechtel Enterprises—announced the appointment of Marvin Odum as its new CEO. Mr. Odum replaces Carlos Riva, who has been CEO of InterGen since its formation in 1995.

"Carlos has been a strong and energetic leader of InterGen. He has led the tremendous growth of the business, making it one of the leading global power generation companies today," said Linda Cook, CEO of Shell Gas & Power and an InterGen Board member. "I would personally like to thank Carlos on behalf of the InterGen board for his commitment and drive."

Marvin Odum is currently Director for the Americas for Shell Gas & Power, based in London. He joined Shell Gas & Power in April 2001, having previously been Vice President, Business Development and Technology, for Shell Exploration & Production in Houston, Texas. Since joining Shell in 1982 as an engineer, he has held a variety of management positions in technical and commercial operations across several businesses. Mr. Odum, who currently serves on the InterGen Board, will assume his new role as InterGen CEO on June 1, 2003.

Marvin Odum holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas and an MBA from the University of Houston. He is married and has three children.

InterGen is a global power generation firm. The Company is operating or building a total of 20 power stations representing 16,220 megawatts (MW). It also has an additional 4,575 MW of projects in active development.
